You like to be well prepared for your first trip in space? Below, we´ve collected a couple of amazing facts for space travellers, so when you go to space you ever more prepared by what to expect.

1. All of space is completely silent.

Sound waves need a medium to travel through. Since there is no atmosphere in space, space will always be eerily silent.

You may be asking how astronauts can talk to each other in space. Lucky for them, radio waves can travel through space. No problem there, Houston.

2. Usain Bolt´s lightning speed could allow him to fly on Saturn´s moon Titan, says study

Usain Bolt, the fastest man on Earth, is so fast that he could fly like a bird on Saturn´s moon Titan while wearing a wingsuit, according to a new study. The world-record holding sprinter, Bolt, has reached top speeds of 12.27 metres per second, which would be fast enough for him to take off on Titan while wearing a regular wingsuit.

Theoretically, the Olympic athlete would then be able to soar above the planet - without any need for propulsion, said researchers at the University of Leicester in the UK. Physics students at the university made the calculations in their final year paper for the Journal of Physics Special Topics, a peer-reviewed student journal run by the Leicester University´s Department of Physics and Astronomy.

3. The Apollo astronauts´ footprints on the moon will probably stay there for at least 100 million years.

Since the moon doesn´t have an atmosphere, there´s no wind or water to erode or wash away the Apollo astronauts´ mark on the moon. That means their footprints, roverprints, spaceship prints, and discarded materials will stay preserved on the moon for a very long time.

They won´t stay on there forever, though. The moon still a dynamic environment. It´s actually being constantly bombarded with "micrometeorites," which means that erosion is still happening on the moon, just very slowly.

4. Using Facebook from out of space seems possible as NASA Shoots Lasers at the Moon to Create Insanely Fast Internet

As NASA has set a new record for communication in space, beaming information to and from a probe named LADEE that is currently flying around the moon 380,000 kilometers away.

Aboard LADEE is the Lunar Communication Demonstration (LLCD), which achieved super-fast download speeds of 622 megabits per second (Mbps) and an upload rate of 20 Mbps. In comparison, the internet at WIRED’s office in San Francisco gets download rates of 75 Mbps and uploads at 50 Mbps. NASA’s typical communications with the moon are about five times slower than what LLCD provided.
